Oil and Gas Data Management Technology

With the enormous amount of multidisciplinary data that is constantly acquired and analyzed during E&P, there is a need to train professionals who can handle and process enormous data efficiently. This process starts with exploration, continues through discovery, and is followed by delineation, development, production, and finally abandonment.

The student shall be expected to learn the importance of providing confidential data management solutions to clients and mechanisms of developing robust geologic, engineering and geophysical databases that are in line with program requirements of future clients and that meet standard industry practice.

The learner shall be introduced to basic database management and oil field operations during Level 1 (Entry Level). The student shall also be introduced to other sister modules like Petroleum Geology, Field Economics, HSE and ICT.

At Level 2 (Advanced Certificate) the student shall be presented with options to choose areas he/ she intends to acquire international accreditation e.g database creation standardization and validation; computerization of geological data; Oracle oil field data management etc.

Other accompanying modules shall include; HSE, geoscience, data protection and confidentiality project management etc.
