Course Description, Aims and Objectives
The course is designed to prepare participants to apply concepts, strategies, and automation, ICT and digital innovations in procurement, logistics and supply chain management in oil and gas industry. Traditionally industries focus on operation evaluation and performance improvement of business processes; however, the deficiency of supply chain coordination results in severe downgrade of business competitiveness. Automation of international and national supply chains not only improve operation and management but also strategic decision- making as well. This course focuses on an overview of logistics and procurement management in organizations based on the concept of supply chain management (SCM).
The aims of this course are:
· To gain broad perspective of the oil & gas upstream, midstream and downstream operations through the concept of Supply Chain Value Management to improve economics, safety, and environmental considerations;
· To boost your understanding of competitive and strategic supply chain operations: oil & gas production, shipping, refining, storage, demand forecasting, contracts, prices, distribution, sales, etc.;
· To master the hydrocarbon energy value chain from the well-head to the fuel tank;
· To Evaluate the technical, commercial, legal, safety and environmental aspects of value chain and;
· To confidently discuss the technical terms, concepts and buzzwords with your peers and clients to improve economics, health, safety and environmental concerns.
